Guitar Valve amp repair costs

It is difficult to price up a repair in advance, as some faults can have many different causes!!

Repair work starts at £50 for the 1st hour and then £20 PH after that, plus parts if needed  . This will inc tube testing and Bias check/adjustment  and spray the pots and jacks.Visual check over for soldering issues and damaged/worn components, Check over for any known issues with that model.

Replacement valves in Guitar amps 

If your guitar amp is in need for a re-valve. The labour charge is normally £60 + the valve costs. ( with the tubes purchased from me)

I will test the pre amp tubes and most importantly BIAS check and adjust if req

Guitar solid state amp repair costs

Valve or Tubes Prices

Valves have become very expensive  since the Ukraine crisis. Tubes are only made in 3 countries now.

Russia- Slovakia- China

This has had a knock on effect for availability,  and with that price. I do keep a wide selection of EL34-EL84-6V6-KT66-6L6-5881-ECC83/ ETC. I have many different brands in stock  inc valves purchased for certain models of  amps.

In stock for my repairs only, I don't sell them for customers to fit themselves . 

Estimates

I find it hard to price up an estimate without having the amp on the bench.

Not even a  ball-park figure !!, A lot of these amps are 10-60 yr s old and some have never been touched and and others have had full service done in the past. Sometimes its just easier to let me give you a call after i have checked it and we can have a chat and i will give you a full price. If in the unlikely event you don't like the price, we can discuss and come up with a plan. If we can't come up with a solution , There will be a charge for estimate  refusal

 

Payment & Storage

Payment is made in full before or at collection. Cash or BACS ONLY.​

Storage charges can be added. We have space issues and can't hold on to your equipment for a long period of time. So you are going way for holiday.  Please inform me before you drop it off.
